I Am Abraham Lincoln by Brad Meltzer

 

We are really enjoying learning about different presidents in the United States. So on Abraham Lincoln's birthday we had to learn a little about him. In this book, we can all be heros and it's a fun approach to biography that all kids can learn from. I Am Abraham Lincoln by Brad Meltzer illustrated by Christopher Eliopoulos was published in January 2014. 

This isn't the first book we have read by Brad Meltzer and I have to admit that we will most likely read a lot more by him. We loved this book and loved what things he focused on about Abraham Lincoln. We loved that he talked about him not liking bullies. That he loved animals from a young age. Also loved how he would write and read. This book is simple enough that 2nd grade and up could read it by themselves. The illustrations are amazing and colorful which keep the kids attention to the book. This book should be used in schools for sure to learn about Abraham Lincoln.
