Book Review: A Little Bit of Winter by Paul Stewart

We have snow coming the first of the year. So of course we had to read some books about snow and winter. In this book, Hedgehog and Rabbit are great pals. But every winter, Hedgehog has to burrow into a cozy spot, and sleep while Rabbit plays in the snow. Rabbit is sad and Hedgehog wants to know more about what winter is like. Hedgehog asked Rabbit if he could save some winter for him when he gets up. A Little Bit of Winter by Paul Stewart was published in October 1998.

This book is so sweet and the kids learn a little about what hibernation is with this factionary tale. We loved the illustrations in this book in that they are colorful and really remind us what winter feels like. I loved that Rabbit is forgetful so his friend writes him a letter to explain what he wishes for. It's a nice way to start our cold spell. The kids really liked this book in it's simple yet beautiful storyline. I recommend checking out this book.
