Take Away the A by Michael Escoffier

The idea behind this book is that within every language there are words that change and become a different word through the simple subtraction of a single letter. In other words, without the "A," the Beast is Best. Take Away the A by Michael Escoffier illustrated by Kris Di Giacomo was published in October 2012. This book was Nominated for Monarch Award in 2018.

This is such a different alphabet book. I recommend this book for older kids such as for upper kindergarten to first grade. Cassie didn't really understand this book so she was bored really quickly. So I don't recommend it for preschoolers or toddlers. The illustrations in this book are not colorful and really don't capture the attention of kids. It's also really hard to read aloud and the person reading aloud stumbles a lot over words.
