Pirate Pete by Kim Kennedy

When Pirate Pete hears the Queen has discovered a treasure map, he must have it. With the map in hand, Pete and his parrot hit the high seas. Along the way, however, Pete cannot pass up a chance to plunder gold, and so he sets ashore a various islands in search of riches. Pirate Pete and Kim Kennedy illustrated by Doug Kennedy was published on May 2002.

The illustrations in this book are so colorful and really grab the attention of the reader. The story-line was lacking in this book and really hard to follow along. My kids had a hard time following the story-line. It jumps around so much and my kids all gave it a thumbs down. It was fine to read aloud, there was no place where we stumbled as I read it aloud. But I don't recommend checking this book out.
