My Pigeon Wants a Puppy! by Mo Willems

 

We love the Pigeon book series in our house by Mo Willems. We are trying to read all of them sometime soon. If you haven't read Mo Willems books to your kids, you should check some out. They are so short books but so much fun. He is an amazing author for sure. In this book Pigeon really really wants a puppy. He will take really good care of it and don't you want Pigeon to be happy. The Pigeon Wants a Puppy! by Mo Willems was published in April 2008. This book has won Children's Choice Book Award for Kindergarten to Second Grade Book of the Year in 2009. 

My kids absolutely loves the Pigeon books, well let me be honest they love pretty much all Mo Willems books. This book is no different with it's simple illustrations to it's simple text. This book is sure to be a hit with all kids everywhere. This book is so funny that it had my kids laughing in stitches at the Pigeon. Plus, my kids could relate as they really want a puppy like Pigeon. So they had a self-to book connection. This book is so easy to read aloud as you are reading what the Pigeon is saying throughout the book. It's simple text and really easy to read each work. Plus, it's fun seeing a bunch of kids rolling on the floor laughing. Even better if you change your voice to read for the Pigeon. I highly recommend checking this book out.
