The Box Turtle by Vanessa Roeder

Terrance the turtle was born without a shell, so he uses a cardboard box instead. Terrance loves his box. It keeps him dry on soggy days, safe from snooping strangers, and is big enough to cozy up with a friend. But when another turtle points out that Terrance's shell is, well, weird, he begins to wonder whether there might be a better shell out there. The Box Turtle by Vanessa Roeder was published in February 2020.

I really loved this book as it talks about the growth mindset of that it doesn't matter what you look like or what you wear it's how you are you. The illustrations in this book are colorful and not overwhelming to distract the kids from the story-line and the message. I love the story-line how it goes through the feeling of kids wanting to be someone that they are not. Of the turtle trying to find the right shell for him. It's such a cute story and really worth checking out. We loved it.
