Pete the Cat: Crayons Rock! by Kimberly Dean

Pete uses his groovy crayons to draw lots of things, and for the first time ever, he's drawing his pals. But when Pete shows his artwork to his friends, they don't react the way he expected them to. Will Pete put his favorite crayons down or find a way to turn it all around? Crayons Rock! by Kimberly Dean illustrated by James Dean was published in September 2020.

My second to youngest loves Pete the Cat books. He loves to bring them home from his school library and have me read them over and over again. I really enjoy Pete the Cat books as well as they teach kids things about life. This book is no different then the others. The illustrations are so colorful and I love that they are teaching kids the colors names. But not only that but also knowing that just because someone doesn't like your artwork doesn't mean you need to stop all that matters is that you like it. Mason loved this book but this book he was a bit board with. I think this book is really for preschool and toddlers more then kindergarten. This book is easy enough for a kindergartener to read but not too easy for someone to also read it to them. It's really easy to read aloud and I had no trouble stumbling around the words.
