Mason loves Pete the Cat books and often bring them home from school for us to read together. One thing with Pete the Cat book is there is a lot of repetitive text which is great for new readers. The illustrations in this book are bright and colorful. They really keep the attention of the reader or if they are reading to others. The text is simple enough for a first grader to be able to read and learn how to read. But not too simple for an older kid or an adult to read to a child. I love how the text is also sing-songness. It's really catchy and will get stuck in your head. This book is really cute and has an actual story-line where some of the Pete the books lacks. It's a great book and worth checking out.
