Corduroy by Don Freeman

Have you ever dreamed of being locked in a department store at night? The endearing story of Corduroy paints a picture of the adventures that might unfold (for a teddy bear at least) in such a situation. When all the shoppers have gone home for the night, Corduroy climbs down from the shelf to look for his missing button. It's a brave new world! He accidentally gets on an elevator that he thinks must be a mountain and sees the furniture section that he thinks must be a palace. Corduroy by Don Freeman was published in 1968.

Another classic children's book that I was able to read to my kiddos. The illustrations are in this book are amazing and colorful. They really grab the attention of the reader and make the story come alive. The text is simple enough that an early reader could read it on their own but also nice for a person to read aloud to a child. It's a great book to add to a nursery library. Cassie really enjoyed this book and giggled a lot of the silly antics Corduroy did in the store.
