But when Sal wanders to the other side of Blueberry Hill, she discovers a mama bear preparing for her own long winters. Meanwhile Sal's mother is being followed by a small bear with a big appetite for berries! Will each mother go home with the right little one? Blueberries for Sal by Robert McCloskey was published in September 1948. This book was a nominee for Caldecott Medal Nominee in 1949.

This is a book that is often read especially when you are teaching the letter B. The illustrations don't have much color compare to most books that are made for preschoolers. The details though in the illustrations are amazing and well created. I love this story so much and love that it has the nature flow of books. I love finding some books that are not recently made to share with my kids. This book is even a book that my husband read as a kid. It's a great book and I recommend adding it to your kid's library.
