The illustrations in this book are muted colors but still use of amazing colors. The illustrations are very detail and it's easy to picture every creature and what the house looks like. They also fit the story and the kids had an easy time following alone. The text in this book is cute and easy to read. I really enjoyed reading it to my youngest. She loved looking at all the monsters in the house running about. This story could fit with Halloween if you are looking for a gentle Halloween. It's a cute book and I highly recommend checking it out.
