Hippopposites by Janik Coat

Behold: an opposite book like no other. Simple pairings of words, both expected and unexpected throughout this book. Hippopposites by Janik Coat was published in 2010.

I love finding board books that start teaching infants and toddlers about concepts that they will need to know to help them to read and function in the school setting. This book has a unique take on opposites by using a simple drawing of a hippo or hippos. The illustrations are simple and are very basic with colors. The text is great and I love even the more unique opposites. This book has some vocabulary words that will go over a lot of toddler heads but it's a great way to start introducing them. I recommend adding this to a nursery library.
