Book Review: The Hollow by Jessica Verday

In "The Hollow" by Jessica Verday, is like a love like no other. When Abbey's best friend, Kristen, vanishes at the bridge near Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, everyone else is all too quick to accept that Kristen is dead...and rumors fly that her death was no accident. Abbey goes through the motions of mourning her best friend, but privately, she refuses to believe that Kristen is really gone. Then she meets Caspian, the gorgeous and mysterious boy who shows up out of nowhere at Kristen's funeral and keeps reappearing in Abbey's life. Caspian clearly has secrets of his own, but he's the only person who makes Abbey feel normal again...but also special. Just when Abbey starts to feel that she might survive all this, she learns a secret that makes her question everything she thought she knew about her best friend. How could Kristen have kept silent so much? And could this secret have her led to her death? As Abbey struggles to understand Kristen's betryal, she uncovers a frightening truth that nearly unravels her - one that will challenge her emerging love for Caspian, as well as her own sanity.

So first let's talk about this amazing cover. It called me to this book from the start. I love the look the cover gives the audience. It makes you want to open it and find out who this girl is and why is she so serious. Also why is she floating in water. Okay, Abbey is the main character and I cried when I felt her emotions of losing her best friend Kristen. I grieved her with Abbey knowing how she was feeling for her best friend. Caspian...made me fall in love with him but also angry at him. Why didn't he want Abbey to touch him and why wouldn't he touch Abbey...at one point I yelled out loud at him. The cliff hangers leave you hanging throughout the book. It was hard to put it down. The characters were well-rounded and you felt the friendship that Abbey had with her best friend Kristen. You wanted to kill the cheerleaders and how they were treating her. It was a great story and I can't wait to tell you more about the series.

I recommend reading this Young Adult Paranormal romance story for sure.
