Book Review: Thanksgiving for Emily Ann by Teresa Johnston

As a parent we want our kids to know what they are thankful they have not always being upset about the things that they don't have especially around holiday time of the year. So I tried to choose some books from the library to help with that process. The book, "Thanksgiving for Emily Ann" by Teresa Johnston is one of those books that helps kids look on what they are thankful for. In this book Emily Ann doesn't like Thanksgiving. With everyone being so busy around her she feels ignored and sad. So Emily Ann decides that to do the worst thing imaginable.

So my oldest Ginny, decided to read this book on her own one day. She has then been begging me to read it to her siblings every day of the week. So last night we actually decided to read this book. I knew why she has been begging. It's a cute book about what it means to be thankful for. It doesn't always mean certain things. Sometimes in parents hustle with the holidays brings feelings out and it doesn't make you feel so happy for the holidays. It then showed that spending time as a family was what the holidays are about. It's a cute story with amazing illustrations by Vanessa Brantley-Newton. The illustrations tell the story perfectly with the text. All of the kids from the oldest who is seven down to the littlest four months enjoyed this book. I highly recommend reading it for Thanksgiving.
