Book Review: Not Very Scary by Carol Brendler

We love spooky Halloween stories in the month of Halloween. So we grabbed this book to add to our collection to read this month. "Not Very Scary" by Carol Brendler was published on August 12th, 2014. It's about a girl named Melly who is a brave monster who is not scared of anything. She loves surprises and when her fun loving cousin invites her over for a surprise Melly sets out for a visit. On her way she notices different Halloween characters.

This book is so much fun with the text by the author and the illustrations by Greg Pizzoli. This book was designed to count up to ten which is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers to learn about about counting. It's such a neat book that is full of so much Halloween fun for kids. The only issue is that it is hard to read for an adult with some big words we had to explain some of the vocabulary words to my children. The illustrations were amazing and very colorful for the kids. I recommend reading this book for Halloween.
