Book Review: Thanksgiving on Thursday by Mary Pope Osborne

"Thanksgiving on Thursday" by Mary Pope Osborne is the twenty-seventh book in the Magic Tree House series. It's a time for giving thanks, when the Magic Tree House whisks Jack and Annie back to 1621 on the first Thanksgiving Day. The Pilgrims ask them to help get things ready. But whether it's cooking or clamming, Jack and Annie don't know how to do anything the Pilgrim way. Will they ruin the holiday forever? Or will the feast go on?

This is the first book that we have read of the Magic Tree house series. I have to say I really like how these books incorporate history facts with fiction. It helped me talk to my three kids about why the Pilgrims are a certain way. Especially on how they talk. My kids really enjoyed learning while we read this book each night. We are going to get another Magic Tree house and read more about Jack and Annie's adventures. I recommend reading this to your kids and who knows the adults might learn some things as well.
