Book Review: The Knight at Dawn by Mary Pope Osborne

"The Knight at Dawn" by Mary Pope Osborne is the second book of the Magic Tree House series. In this book Jack and Annie go on an adventure to the Middle Ages. They go to the Great Gall of a castle where there is a feast under way. But Jack and Annie aren't exactly welcome guest.

This book was a little slower then the other books of this series. My kids loved this story and how action packed it was. Jack and Annie were a little flat characters but it's hard to remember this is for young readers. In this book it leaves you hanging of who created the Magic Tree House and why did they make it. As a parent I liked that it talks about different aspects of the Middle Ages and what people wore during that time. My son got a kick out how boys wore skirts back then. I recommend reading this book.
