Book Review: Froodle by Antoinette Portis

I saw this book and new my kids would like to read it. Who wouldn't when you see a bird saying a weird noise. "Froodle" by Antoinette Portis was written in 2014, and has won CLEL Bell Picture Book Awards for Talk in 2015. In a normal neighborhood, the birds are chirping. When a little brown bird decides she doesn't want to sing the same old song and comes out with a new tune.

The illustrations in this book are amazing and simplistic in itself. I love that the text is coming out in speech bubbles and that is what tells the stories. My kids were giggling throughout this book at the different sounds that the brown bird was saying. We really loved this book and it was perfect to get all the giggles out before bed.
