Book Review: There Are Monsters Everywhere by Mercer Mayer

Mercer Mayer began illustrating books in 1966. Since then he has published over 300 books. Most of the books happened when he was kid. Though now he writes about things happening now and with his own children. He was born in Arkansas in 1943. When he was 13 years old his family moved to Hawaii. When he moved to New York City  his wife and him started writing the Little Critters stories together.
Mercer Mayer
In There Are Monsters Everywhere by Mercer Mayer about a kid who takes matters into his own hands with the monsters he finds everywhere. He learns karate which will empower kids to beat the monsters out of their house.
I had huge hopes for this story as I love books by Mercer Mayer. The illustrations that Mercer Mayer has created are amazing and so real life. It's like you are right there with the character in the book. The colors make it pop. My kids were rather bored though with the story line of this book. It seemed to drag on and it lost their attention rather quick. We will put this book on hold and try it again when they are a little older though.
